Cabana Fire in Robbinsville

Robbinsville (Mercer)--A person walking their dog August 1, 2008 just after midnight in the 100 block of Eisenhower Drive noticed fire behind a residence and called 9-1-1 reporting a well involved structure. Firefighters responded and found it was a cabana fire behind the residence that was on fire and extinguished the fire within three minutes of arrival. Investigators from the Robbinsville Division of Fire, Robbinsville Division of Police and Mercer County Prosecutor's Office responded and investigated the fire. It was determined that a barbeque grill was improperly installed into a combustible base of wood that caused the fire. Responding departments along with Robbinsville were: Nottingham Fire Company, Groveville Fire Company, Mercerville Fire Company, DeCou Fire Company, and West Windsor Fire Company.
