TRENTON-As the sun was getting ready to set in Trenton on Dec
13. A call was sent out from a home on Huff Avenue. Neighbors called 911
reporting smoke is pouring out of the upstairs window. Then in under a minute a
second call came through that there was a trapped person inside. Rescue 1 Engine
10,Ladder 4 Engine 8 and Engine 9 raced to the scene. Firefighters arrived to
see smoke billowing from a third floor window. As the Firemen sprang into action
a lady appears from the smoking structure, coughing gagging and crying out loud.
She was quickly meet by fireman and escorted over to medical personnel how was
rushing to her aid. The fire was quickly contained in the third floor bedroom
causing only smoke damage. The owner of the home was treated and released at a
local hospital for minor injuries. The cause of the blaze was from the careless
use of a candle.
