Millstone Township (Monmouth)--A second alarm fire tore though a large house at 1 Clark Court on Sunday afternoon at about 5:20 p.m. Firefighters and investigators are still on scene at this time. Millstone Fire Company responded as well as Hope Fire Company of Allentown, Jackson Mills Fire Company, Freehold Township Independent Fire Company, Freehold Borough Fire Company, Manalapan Township Fire Company, Monroe Township Fire company, East Windsor Fire Company # 2 (Sta. 46), Englishtown and Hightstown Fire Company.

A source close to the investigation said the cause of the fire was likely from a lightning strike from a severe thunderstorm during the time of the fire.
