Hotel Fire In Bordentown

Over 100 firefighters responded to the Days Inn in Bordentown Township tonight after a fire broke out in a second floor room.
The fire at the motel on Route 206 was first reported at 6:05 p.m. and was declared under control at 6:48 p.m., according to Burlington County Central Communications.
No injuries were reported, and it was not immediately clear how many guests at the motel were evacuated.
Reports from the fire scene were that at least one room sustained significant fire damage.
No additional information was immediately available.

Firefighters from Bordentown (Stations 322, 321, 601, 602), Crosswicks (261), Chesterfield (262), Mansfield (331), Florence (401), and Hamilton Township (Mercer County) responded to fight the blaze, and made a very quick stop on the fast-moving fire.

 Report from the Chief:

On November 25, 2008 at 18:00 hrs Bordentown Township firefighters responded to the Days Inn Route 206 for a reported fire with victims trapped. First arriving units found a working job w/ no confirmation that the victims were already out of the room for approx 10 minutes  Crews were met with heavy fire on the [D] side division 2 hand lines were put into service, a primary search was negative, suppression was started by ladder crew from 3225. The Chief was able to locate the victims on the scene.  3225 was assisted by fire firefighters from Mission, Bordentown City, Florence , Crosswicks and Rusling Hose fire firefighters. The fire was under control in about 25 minutes, there were no injuries to the occupants or fire fighters. The fire is under investigation by Burlington County and State Fire Marshal Offices.
