Fire breaks out at Freehold Township fireman's home

A local fireman and his family were forced to evacuate their home when a fire erupted in the basement, fire officials said today.

A structure fire was reported around 10:20 a.m. at 19 Euretta Avenue, home of East Freehold Fire Company member Michael Petrula, said East Freehold's former chief, Evan Berman.

Nobody was injured in the fire, which was under control within 45 minutes, said East Freehold Fire Capt. Lee Beaton.

Firefighters from several units responded, including members of the East Freehold Fire Company, Freehold Fire Department, Freehold Township Independent Fire Company #1, Adelphia Fire Company and Millstone Township's Rapid Intervention Team.
