ROBBINSVILLE -- A woman was seriously injured
Thursday when her sport utility vehicle slammed into a tree
after rear-ending another vehicle on Route 130, police said.
The accident occurred a little before 5:15 p.m. on Route 130,
just south of Meadowbrook Road, when the northbound SUV being
driven by a 38-year-old Millstone woman hit the rear of another
northbound SUV being operated by a 34-year-old Robbinsville
woman, according to township Police Officer James Moore, who is
leading the investigation.
Following that impact, he said, the 38-year-old lost control of
her SUV, which veered onto the highway's median and then crossed
the southbound lanes before striking a tree. The woman, whose
name was not released Thursday night, was trapped in the
wreckage and had to be extricated by township firefighters.
