Rain Slicked Roads Cause Accidents

Allentown/Upper Freehold (MONMOUTH)--September 28, 2008--A weekend rain storm caused multiple accidents in the area keeping the Hope Fire Company of Allentown and the Allentown First Aid Squad busy. The first was on high street near the Presbyterian Church involving at least 3 cars. (not shown) The second one in front of the Allentown Auto Body on Main Street sent one person to the hospital just after Noon (12:10 p.m.) Involving a car that lost control on main street loosing control and crashing into a parked van and a tree. The third accident at 12: 35 p.m. was on Route 539 about 1/2 mile South of the Allentown High School near 80 Route 539, where a pickup truck overturned on its side trapping the driver inside. The Hope Fire Company and Allentown First Aid Squad also responded to that scene and helped the uninjured victim out of the vehicle. Allentown Police are investigating the two accidents in the borough and the NJ State Police-Hamilton is investigating the Upper Freehold crash.
