Princeton Township (Mercer County)--May 18th, 0305 hrs, Herrontown Road @ Snowden Lane.  Princeton First Aid, Rescue and Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with reported patients pinned and fire.  Princeton First Aid Squad's BLS unit was first to arrive reporting heavy smoke in the area and a car off the roadway head on into a tree.  The fire, contained to the engine was quickly extinguished by first arriving Police patrol units and later wet down with a hose line. The rescue company assisted by the fire department worked to free a heavily entrapped male driver. The roof and drivers side posts and doors were removed to access the patient, who was then transported to Helene Fuld Trauma Center in Trenton with serious injuries.  Princeton Township PD performed an extensive accident investigation that had the road closed until a little after 6 am.
