Point Pleasant Borough (Ocean)--On October 19, 2009 around 3 a.m. fire fighters battled a house fire on River Road in Point Pleasant, NJ. A dog died in the blaze. Point Pleasant Borough Fire Companies No 1 and 2 fought the blaze. The Herberstville FAST Team also responded. The Point Pleasant Borough First Aid Squad were on scene. The Brick Police EMS also responded.
Updates and additional information: The investigation into an early morning laze that claimed the life of a dog is continuing. Volunteer fire fighters from Point Pleasant Fire Companies No. 1 and 2 were called to the scene at around 3 a.m. Initial reports indicated that a bomb was in the home. A 22 year old male occupant of the home had locked himself in his bedroom and eventually left through a window after being coaxed down. The Point Pleasant First Aid and Emergency squad offered assistance on scene. The Herberstville FAST Team and Brick EMS responded.
